Why do we need to sort our waste?
One of the hottest topics in China in 2019 is waste sorting. Cities are starting to make it into law. But this wasn’t the first time the government has tried to introduce waste sorting—so why did we fail before, and why is it important now?
Many years ago, Jianming didn’t care, just like everyone else. But today, he works tirelessly on environmental issues. What changed him? He has focused on waste sorting and management. Jianming entered the environmental advocacy space in 2009 when people protested against the construction of a new waste incineration facility. He advocates for zero-waste communities, connecting the government, businesses, and local residents. He encourages public participation and studies sustainable solutions for the future.
