Don't let education consume children's feelings

“Feeling” is the key that opens the door to the real world. It’s how we sense the seasons, how we taste life’s bittersweetness. These emotions, experiences, and reflections are what truly nurture our humanity. Today, educational anxiety is creeping into the lives of students, parents, and teachers alike. But what if we could change something? What if we could help children step out of the “factory model” of education and rediscover their natural sensitivity to the world?

Zhao holds many titles: Chinese teacher, youth educator, education studio lead. But the role he’s proudest of is simply being a Chinese language teacher. His classes are never routine. Drawing on his past experience teaching math, English, and music, Zhao blends these disciplines into his language teaching. That’s what gives his classes a special kind of energy—and allows his students to fall in love with Chinese from many different entry points.
